I believe i would take the stabbing. It was a trick to give him the option. Poisoning is not as painless as movies would have you believe and it usually isn't quick, to say the least.  |

As it's in South America, his pupils are massively dilated, he's having involuntary movements, is having muscle spasms or seizures, isn't able to control his body voluntarily, it's probably scopolamine or some other alkaloid found in the plants of the Solanaceae family. Nicotine also fits his symptoms very well, is also a Solanaceae itself and is easier to get in prison
