In West Java province, a man was found hanging from an overpass, with black duct tape over his eyes and mouth. Found nearby was a piece of cardboard with his final message, in which he requested that his body was sent to Imannuel Hospital, where his parents worked. His final request was not granted - he was taken to Bhayangkara Sartika Asih Hospital instead.

The man publicly posted his suicide note as an eight-page Google Doc. Most of it was rambling about how politicians are corrupt and how the world is falling apart due to pollution and overpopulation and stuff like that. Plus, Indonesian isn't an easy language to translate.

But basically, he notes that he was bullied frequently in his youth due to being a Christian in a Muslim-majority area. He struggled to fit in at elementary or middle school, or get good grades at high school, but college was generally a good experience as he always had friends to chat with. However, after college, he drifted apart from his friends. He ends the note by writing:

Then, what if a life without ego cannot be realized? Is it wrong for me this time to live out my own ego? I don’t want to live in a place like this. What are we fighting for? To let our grandchildren struggle with their own new problems? What is the point? To satisfy our own egos as well?

Indeed, I am not a good person. I always trouble those closest to me. I am just a burden to the people I love.

Indonesian here….Cimahi is next to the capital city. Bandung areas yep…the suicide note is a scholar level and all of the notes are not satisfied with govt etc.

Being bullied can severely affect a child's or teen's self-image, social interactions, or school performance, and can lead to mental health problems such as depression, anxiety, and substance use, and even suicidal thoughts and behaviors.

Sad, until you have a friend that takes their own life you won't know how hard it is to deal with. Questioning yourself on why you didn't see it coming. What you could have done to prevent it. It's a really selfish thing to do to your friends and family. Just sad all the way around. This kid really needed to have some counseling and help from friends and family. He obviously was dealing with a lot more than they all realized. RIP Dimas.....
