Yeah, the problem with that whole scenario is it's impossible to disarm this entire country. Anyone out to commit armed crimes here don't give a shit if the guns they have are illegal. Guns will always be on the black market. So then if you disarm the rest of the population, its just then being at the mercy of any asshole still armed. I'd rather have a gun in my house to protect what I've worked hard for and protect my family. Not all countries have the same crime issues, and here..They're needed.
Go down to any major city in America and tell them to turn in their guns...you'll get laughed at.
The problem is people that have guns that abuse the right to own one or aren't mentally sound enough to make the right choice with using that gun. It's the same thing with drunk driving, it's the person behind the wheel that's the problem, plenty of people drink responsibly.
We need stricter laws on age requirements and possibly mental health tests in the future but guns here in America..to say just disarm the population? That's not going work here

My city up here in the Pacific Northwest would like a word with you. Seems like every other day I hear about another shooting/drive-by. At the same time i'm hearing about how my city's police shortage is at an all time historical low.
