A 21-year-old wushu player collapsed and died whilst participating in the All-India Inter-University Wushu Championship at Chandigarh University. A massive heart attack is believed to be cause of death, although the exact cause has yet to be determined.

According to spectators, after having been thrown out of the bout zone by his opponent, the deceased seem to struggle in returning to the mat, before collapsing.
