Yes, it does. I spent 6 months there traveling around in all parts of India, and you had better believe that culture blocks involvement with street violence against women. Women are chattel to their men, and no one will stop him hurting her. I am generalizing, but I have been there extensively, and that is how it is. Look at the Indian national govt: Russia is violating Ukraine, and India just plays footsy with Putin for cheap oil. Same attitude: Ukraine getting stabbed on the street, and India wont step in to help. |
