I disagree .. what exactly are they supposed to do ? #1. they're likely all in shock watching what's happening in front of them .. none of them are trained to handle such a situation ..

2# they could try to intervene, but he might turn on them .. then what ? you likely get stabbed and stoned to death yourself ..

when you see someone doing something like that, they are out of their fkn mind and if you're going to intervene you better be properly armed .. preferably with a gun ...

so if none of those people had such a thing it would not have been very smart to get involved .. for their own safety anyways
