Indian Teacher's Body Found - Face Gnawed Down to the Bone
Bhiwani, Haryana, India The body of 19-year-old play school teacher Manisha was found dumped in fields. The skin on her face had been removed, most likely due to post-mortem animal activity. It is thought she died around two days before her body was found. Manisha had gone missing whilst going to a college near the play school to take admission in a B.Sc. course. When her family reported her missing to the police, instead of searching for her, the police supposedly said she must have eloped and gotten married and would return home on her own. Angered by this response, her relatives and villagers staged a protest at the Civil Hospital. It was initially reported that Manisha's throat had been slit, but it is now believed such a wound was caused by a scavenging animal, post-mortem. On the same day the body was discovered, a suicide note was found, in which Manisha reportedly wrote about her parents being upset with her. Police claimed that Manisha's family was aware of the note the entire time. Furthermore, police also reported they had reviewed surveillance footage showing Manisha buying a significant quantity of insecticide, and an autopsy report confirmed the presence of insecticide in the intestines. Manisha's family, however, rejected the theory of suicide. Local protests over the incident were such that internet service was disabled in the area "to stop the spread of misinformation and to check the mobilisation of demonstrators". The local police superintendent was transferred for negligence, and five police personnel were suspended. |

The body does not appear to be bloated nor can I see the presence of insect activity. Well she did “Big Gulp” insecticide. Maybe the climate slows decomp? |
