Re: Indian Man Holding Child Is Fatally Electrocuted After Touching Wire
Although this event was still very tragic, I did come away with a few positive observations... - The initial "dance of confusion" was quickly replaced with deliberate attempts to actually help the victim. - Although one person still felt the need to test the theory, the group as a whole seemed to understand the concept of conductivity and knew not to touch the victim. - As soon as someone had successfully separated the victim from the source of current, they immediately tried to resuscitate him. I would call that significant progress! Then again, I wouldn't be surprised to hear that when they tried to defibrillate him on the way to the hospital, the stretcher was touching the driver, and the resulting shock caused him to accelerate directly into the path of an oncoming train. This is India after all. |
