A 45-year-old daily wage labourer, Rajesh, died from severe head injuries after being beaten in a spot underneath a bridge where labourers regularly gather in search of work.

The suspect, Bharat Sahu, allegedly returned to the scene about half an hour after an earlier altercation and repeatedly struck Rajesh on the head with a wooden stick. Both men were under the influence at the time.

Apparently, Bharat was inhaling an adhesive solution widely used as an intoxicant, and began stripping. This sparked an argument with Rajesh, who assaulted Bharat with kicks and punches. Rajesh then laid down to sleep, before Bharat returned to the scene to murder him. Bharat has been arrested.
