In Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh state, a labourer, I., was decapitated after coming into contact with an 11,000-volt line while installing shutters on an under-construction house.

dont they have insulated cables like in modern countries, only naked coppers? .. .. and Indians and Electricity dont mix  |

Questions for those who've worked in the industry or otherwise are in the know: is it typical to have anything like 11,000-volt lines exposed like they are here in residential/business areas such as this in developed western countries? What about differences in safety measures?

I can't help feel that Electric Six's Danger High Voltage video intercut with the electrocutions would be the most appropriate tribute to the winners of these Darwin Awards.

I don't believe any countries have insulated power lines, you see this all over. Insulated phone & TV cables.
