Margao, Goa state. The victim was a 59-year-old woman, O.M., who was on her way to church. Her daughter, who was a passenger on the bike, is currently in hospital.

Not in all of India, but they are currently having a very rough time at the hands of Hindu extremists in the state of Manipur, as I know from personal contact with someone there. People think of India as a single country like the USA, with states all under a central government. However, the Indian states have a high degree of self rule, and the authority of the central government is tenuous in some places.
