India: Man Kills Himself After Shooting Wife
A man shot his wife dead and later committed suicide allegedly over mutual discord in Bhopa area of Muzaffarnagar district here in Uttar Pradesh on Friday, police said here. Police said N. (25), a resident of Makhiyali village, got married to T. (22), a resident of Loni in Ghaziabad district, around four months back. "Their marriage was facilitated by N.'s cousin Saddam. The couple had differences since marriage and they used to have fights frequently," they said. Police said on Friday morning N. along with T. reached Saddam's house in Gadla village. "N. called Saddam, but he did not come out. In the meantime, after hearing commotion Saddam's neighbour Sabir came out of his house and asked N. about the reason behind shouting," they said. Police said on this N. opened fire on Sabir and left the place with T. on the motorcycle. "After coming out of the village N. shot T. in her chest and committed suicide by shooting with the same pistol," they said. Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Atul Kumar Srivastava said the bodies have been sent for post- mortem and the matter is being investigated. |
