too fast /overloaded descending > brakes got heated up more than expected, can't cool down enough. So the brakes are now very close to the overheated state > ending the curve ... oops Instructive is the video I saw (on HR?) of a driver escaping capture, avoiding as a boss all kinds of obstacles, fast police cars, ... but his brakes got too overheated, they had no special cooling dev. as in F1 cars, so all stopping was suddenly impossible. |

A truck driver did exactly that to stop his break-less truck and avoid hitting a long line of cars in which I was, there was a deep gorge on one side of the railing so he risked his life to avoid making a huge tragedy, if he hadn't done that I among many would have been in a video on this site about nine years ago!
