Re: Ice Hockey Stadium Collapses, Killing Worker

The Romans build a colosseum nearly 2,000 years ago and most of it is still standing.

The Russians build a colosseum just 40 years ago and most of it is rubble.

Apart from the obvious human tragedy, this is a beautifully shot video and will be shown in physics and architecture classes for years to come to show the results of catastrophic single-point failure in design.

Should've been hooked to the cage with a safety harness.

True, but the Romans, just like the Egyptians, had the help of aliens whose engineering knowledge was billions of years ahead of the Russians.

Seriously? You didn't just... ugh...people, stop watching misleading, fake science TV (aka Ancient Aliens). lol. The reason conspiracy theories work in the human mind is due to how the brain works.

The cerebrum is responsible for reasoning, but it's also responsible for learning and emotions.

If you can convince - even loosely - by reason that "A" can be linked to "B" and "B" linked to "C" and "C" to "D", "A" is directly related to "D", even when "A" and "D" actually have nothing to do with each other at all.

Couple that with emotions, the brain can be taught to link events that have nothing to do with each other.

It's the exact reason why the jury system doesn't work. A half decent prosecutor can get a guilty verdict when the defendant is completely innocent; they can convince the jury you're guilty by this same trickery as conspiracy theories.

You can even ask the jury and they will wholeheartedly stand by their convictions because they cannot conceive they could be wrong by what they've just "learned".

I hope you're never accused of a crime. You are far more likely to be found guilty than not, regardless of innocence. And if you ever are accused, keep your mouth shut. The part that reads "anything you say can and will be used against you" in your Miranda rights is also your freedom. Do not flap your gums about how innocent you are. Immediately ask for an attorney and never confirm or deny anything, even if it appears unrelated because they will stab you in the back with it.

"Oh, you walked your dog that day? It just so happens you walked your dog past the victim's house!" That will land you in jail.
