Was that a meat grinder he collided with?
No, but he certainly seems to have been driving one.

Re: Hyundai Sonata Split in Half After Collision with a Mack Granite Truck

Whenever the tires blow the panicked reaction most people do is slam on the break and swerve. With one tire out on one side of the vehicle the braking power between the two sides is very unequal, and slamming on the brakes will make your car turn away from the side with the blown tire. When the tires blow let go of the gas and and turn the wheel just enough to keep your car in the lane. Slowly bleed off speed with a few light taps on the brake and pull off to the side. If the drive wheels are undamaged, you can also down shift to slow down the car.

But also, just not speeding faster than you should would help too.
OR, you can just turn into the path of a granite truck. That's always an alternative...........

Re: Hyundai Sonata Split in Half After Collision with a Mack Granite Truck

DR, Yesterday a 34 year old motorist died in a horrific accident. He was driving an orange Hyundai Sonata and according to witnesses a car tire exploded and the driver lost control of the vehicle, impacting with Mack Granite truck.

The truck driver remained unharmed. Others told the Hyundai was speeding also. The motorist was split in half as his upper half was ejected from the vehicle and his legs were still inside the car.

The trucker is detained by police for research purposes.

holy shit.

Cheers for the info.

Genuinely curious: Does it matter if the vehicle is front or rear wheel drive (or all wheel drive), with respect to the blown tyre, to the direction that the vehicle will turn?
