Husband Arrested After Slitting His Wife's Throat
India. Mohammed Mustafa has been arrested by the Balapur police today, following the murder of his wife, A.B, variously reported as 28 to 32 years old. The couple were natives of Uttar Dinajpur, West Bengal, and had been married for roughly 15 years. The police stated that the murder followed a heated argument stemming from Mustafa suspecting his wife of having an illicit relationship. Mustafa fled the scene after slitting his wife's throat on Monday night. Acting on credible information, Balapur police apprehended him on Tuesday afternoon at the Airport Hotel in Balapur. The police recovered the murder weapon (a knife), the accused's mobile phone and bloodstained clothing. A case has been officially registered under Section 103(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and Mustafa has been produced before the court for judicial remand. |
