Probably would've worked if they'd used a proper fuel can, instead of the open ended one they had. It did make a nice rocket once it started going though.

A Chinese university student has suffered severe burns after a waitress in a restaurant accidentally turned a bottle of alcohol into a flamethrower on Tuesday afternoon. The graphic security camera footage shows the moment an 18-year-old waitress in the restaurant in Wenzhou south of Shanghai lifts up a bottle of methylated spirits to the table. The waitress was attempting to add more alcohol to a miniature grill cooking a specialty dish on the dining table when far more tipped out than she intended. The table grill is a popular gimmick at many Chinese restaurants, but it was the waitress's first time using the apparatus. The sudden ignition sent flames shooting out of the bottle, dousing a woman at the table, a 20-year-old second year student. As the student sits on the floor covered with flames, her boyfriend takes his shirt off and begins trying to smother the fire. The young woman was severely burned but survived, while her boyfriend and the waitress suffered relatively minor injuries. The waitress had been serving customers alone for the first time that day, with the more experienced employees having the day off, the Wengzhou Evening News reports.
