Re: Hong Kong 3 Wheels and 2 Wheels Motorcycles Today
News A 21-year-old rider died after a motorcycle lost control and hit a motorized tricycle head-on at the Kowloon Reservoir on Tai Po Highway A fatal traffic accident occurred on Tai Po Highway. At 3.21pm today, a motorized tricycle was reportedly traveling along the Shatin Ridge section of Tai Po Highway in the direction of Shatin. When it reached a bend opposite Kowloon Reservoir, a motorcycle suddenly lost control and overturned, crossing the line and colliding head-on with the motorized tricycle. Both riders were injured. The motorcycle driver, surnamed Tan, 21, fell into a coma and was taken to Mying Ai Hospital by ambulance, but was pronounced dead by medical staff at 3.59pm. The scene is the Tai Po Highway – Shatin Ridge section near the Kowloon Reservoir, with two lanes out of Kowloon and a single lane into Shatin, with a speed limit of 70 kilometers per hour. A shoe fell on the left front wheel of the motorized tricycle; personnel set aside the iron rider's helmet, clothing, another shoe and some detached parts, and sprinkled wood bran to cover the oil stain. The 21-year-old motorcyclist who died unfortunately was found crushed by his motorcycle. The West Kowloon Traffic Department Special Investigation Team is following up the investigation. Anyone who witnessed the accident or has information is asked to contact investigators at 3661-9023. |

The guy on the trike did as good a job of maneuvering his machine as was possible. For a moment he reminded me of a cowboy on a bucking bronco.
