The proceeding "dead" man (after the initial decedent/target perished) was the "set up guy," the eyes on the ground! The scratch on the top of the head, immediately after rounding the corner, was the "tell," letting the shooter know the target was present, etc. He faked getting "hit" to appear innocent to his comrades! In conclusion, the "other victim" enacted his wound not to save his own life, but rather to end another's life in this world! Alas, perhaps even the life of a friend...
