I remember to hear when the burns reaches nerve terminals and destroy/burn them, the person cannot feel anymore pain. This happens after ~2-5 minutes under a continue burning.

When I was a dumbass teen, we played chicken by putting our arms side-by-side & dropping a lit cigarette between them (still have some nasty scars). After a minute or two you don't feel shit.
