An operator I met, huge muscular guy with special forces career, considered the FAL the finest weapon ever made, this was 25 years ago. I like my STG-58 kit built on an Imbel gear logo receiver MUCH better than my sexier looking Heckler Koch G3s from the same period (late 50's to mid 1960's). The Krauts made an attractive sheet metal turd, G3 controls are difficult and painful to operate. FAL is usually more accurate than G3.

That 7.62 will animate a dead body. I built an FN/FAL from a parts kit(the early '90s were great). Best assault rifle I ever owned.
