Re: Hiding Behind a Kid During Restaurant Shooting
At the 0:17 mark… shooter #1 unsuccessfully jumps over a chair, landing with his legs split on either side, crushing at least one of his testicles. Hilarious! |

Re: Hiding Behind a Kid During Restaurant Shooting
Why would you say that? What if the father is the Mexican Jonathan Kent? You would have done the same https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonathan_and_Martha_Kent |

Re: Hiding Behind a Kid During Restaurant Shooting
I think it would be a natural reaction, nothing intentional. Look at the far left, the older couple sitting there eating. As soon as shit hits the fan, the husband is OUT, no regard for his wife. Its natural flight or fight instinct. We all like to think we would act a certain way, protect our loved ones, or even be the hero in situations like this. But truth is, most of us regular civilians without any military or police training, would crumble |

Re: Hiding Behind a Kid During Restaurant Shooting
I think people are juding the father too quickly. Looks like he was trying to get all his kids down when the gunman turned towards him and he ducked behind the chair out of instinct. But the entire time he was trying to pull the kid down with his hands and cover him. Seems like he was fighting between his natural instinct to protect his kids and also the reactionary instinct to not get shot. |

Re: Hiding Behind a Kid During Restaurant Shooting
rewatched the video a couple times. as soon as the shooting breaks out he pushes his son in the red shirt under the table to cover, then his right arm gets stuck holding his little kid in a weird position in both of his hands that would make it physically impossible to pull him the back through the chair. in the end he saved his kids lives and only got shot in the shoulder.

Re: Hiding Behind a Kid During Restaurant Shooting
I love the part where his kid runs to him, arms reaching out for his Fathi assume to pick him up. Nope, daddy pushes him out of the way and runs around looking for a skirt to hide under.
