Helmet Cam Captures Motorcycle Crash That Killed Female Social Media Influencer
Ceyda Yakova, a 22-year-old Turkish social media influencer and former volleyball player, tragically lost her life in a motorcycle accident on the Şile road in Istanbul on August 17. The accident occurred around 5:00 PM at the notorious Avlak bend on the highway leading to the coastal town of Şile. Yakova was on her way home after visiting a friend. As she approached the curve, her camera recorded two clear speed-warning signs painted on the asphalt reading YAVAŞ which means slow. However, rather than braking, she maintained her speed. Her tires hit a patch of loose gravel spread across the bend, causing her to lose complete control of the motorcycle. The bike drifted off the road and she struck a metal road signpost in the median at high speed. Emergency services rushed her to the Şile State Hospital, and she was later transferred to a larger medical facility in Sancaktepe. Despite the efforts of the medical staff, she passed away due to severe internal injuries. Yakova had just graduated a month prior with a degree in psychology from Istanbul Bilgi University. This incident sparked a massive public debate in Turkey regarding the hazards of loose gravel on major highways and motorcycle safety awareness. |

Suicide. Didn't even yell out. Only good reason to own a donorcycle, if for instance you can't own a gun or something. RIP.

When she was making her turn, she didn't dip hard enough to pull it off... Understand the enthusiasm to go fast, but if you don't know how to harness and control your power, you shouldn't be riding |

Re: Helmet Cam Captures Motorcycle Crash That Killed Female Social Media Influencer
I never ride motorcycles, but I used to hover or lightly drag my shoe on the ground when going around a fast turn on my bicycle before I could drive. I think some types of motorcycles track races boots are integral. Several times there was dirt or gravel on the street that was not visible, the 10 speed started to slide and my inside foot immediately righted me back up. It worked like magic to a 13 year old.

Especially on country roads, you can't go wellying into bends and corners that you've never been around before. Where I live in Scotland, the roads are full of mad surprises and I bet Turkey is worse for that shit.
