Not smart to use guns during a civil revolution, world is watching and occasional civilian deaths only bring them closer to the changes they want, if it was an all out gunfight there will be thousands of deaths instead of tens, they will loose their unarmed civilian status and army would have to intervene.

I thought we'd be seeing a lot out of Egypt on DR, but apparently not. I think a good bit of people died in the riots. The videos will be uploaded soon enough I guess. Plus I think Mubarak handed power to the military, which I think could really leave Egypt totally fucked.

If history is anything to go by, we can't expect anything like a transparent democracy to immerge there. With power nations like the USA, Saudi Arabia and Israel all interfering, does anyone really think the will of the people is going to be met?

Tanks divisions will be part of the Army. The Army is forbidden by the Constitution to be used in the country. The president would have to give the order, and it would no doubt be ignored. He would also be impeached by Congress after such an attempt.
