A teenager died and his 19-year-old accomplice was injured during an attempted robbery foiled by an off-duty military police officer on Thursday morning (31) in São Vicente, on the coast of São Paulo. The incident occurred on Avenida 9 de Julho, at the corner of Antônio Emmerich, in the Vila Cascatinha neighborhood. According to the Military Police, the pair attempted to steal a motorcycle from a woman who was preparing to leave her home. Surveillance video shows the victim being approached by two men on a motorcycle. One of them got off and took control of her motorcycle, but the attack was interrupted by a passing police officer. The officer fired at the suspects. The teenager, who was still on the motorcycle, was hit and died at the scene. The other, who was trying to escape, was shot in the left eye and arm. He was rescued by SAMU and taken conscious to Vicentino Hospital, where he remains under police escort. The case was registered at the 1st Police District of São Vicente and is under investigation. |

The off duty cop was paying attention as he walked into the frame, hooked a quick left and walked with a purpose to thwart those two assholes who totally got what they deserved!!   |

ok, so i am reading conflicting news stories. but from what i can tell, the guy shot in the eye actually did live, and it was the other guy who died. see photos below    |
