You know that in some cases you can actually get sued for helping? Somebody falls, a good Samaritan helps them up, and JUST then some vital connection is severed.

That's why they made a law for it.

Good Samaritan laws offer legal protection to people who give reasonable assistance to those who are, or whom they believe to be injured, ill, in peril, or otherwise incapacitated.

Even an "Adamantium" helmet would have been useless, you need to understand the forces involved, the speed and tonnage of the lorry, his neck would have been broken by the tire rolling on top of the "Adamantium" helmet and twist his neck killing him regardless of the fantastic protection of such a helmet.
