I wouldn't be surprised to find that it was an AK47 being fired at him, and if it was an AK it would probably be a .223 caliber or a 7.62x39mm. Either way, they are both capable of doing to the human skull what we see done on that video.

I thought it looked like it hit the ground before his head too... Which would explain the SEVERE head trauma. The bullet would have been deformed and defragmenting from the asphalt, which results in a badass explosion of a head!
