I'm no psychologist but I'm pretty sure you'd have to be somewhat depressed before killing yourself. To say people have a choice in getting "to that level" would be somewhat inaccurate. Depression is an illness, you can't simply wish it away, or the conditions that created it in the first place unfortunately.
