Handyman Electrocuted to Death Inside a Restaurant Kitchen
Security camera footage from a Shenzhen restaurant shows a very distressing and even fatal scene when a handyman gets electrocuted in the middle of a busy restaurant kitchen. The incident happened on the evening of June 16, when a handyman named L. was fixing the power outlet above the refrigerator by standing in the open door of the fridge. Footage shows how minutes after working on the power outlet, the man gets an electrical shock from the power source or wiring system on the top of the fridge. Instead of falling to the ground, he falls against the air-conditioning behind him and remains mid-air. Three male staff members are busy working in the kitchen when the handyman gets electrocuted. Although it seems as if one of the men notices something is wrong with L., he does not check to see if L. is alright and continues with his work. For over half a minute, L’s body remains mid-air between the fridge and air-conditioning, as restaurant staff go about their job. When L’s body falls to the ground after half a minute, the restaurant cook calls for help. Unfortunately, help comes too late for L.; Chinese media report that he has not survived the incident. |

When ever I had to call someone in to work on a refrigeration unit, I made damn sure the breakers were flipped for that thing until they were done. |

Re: Handyman Electrocuted to Death Inside a Restaurant Kitchen
I have heard that when you are shocked, your muscles clench up. But obviously, this can only last so long, because when your nerves stop resetting their signals, eventually there are no more signals, and your clenching goes away. I always wondered how long that was. Now I know that it's about 20 seconds or so. So I guess we all learned something today. Including the guy who was electrocuted. But at least he wasn't hypmotized! |
