Hacked By Cartels, Bleeding In The Street
Oct 25, Galle: An unidentified armed group today hacked a man to death in broad daylight in Galle, one of Sri Lanka's major cities, and fled unscathed raising many eyebrows regarding the security of public.

An armed group of four has hacked the man savagely on a busy road as the victim was riding a motorcycle. According to the police the assailants have severed a leg and a hand of the victim using machetes.

Scores of people have witnessed the incident but the assailants have fled easily despite the presence of major police stations and military camps in the port city.

The victim has been identified as a 48-year-old businessman named Saman Kumara Seneviratne. He is reportedly a close relative of a member of Galle Municipal Council.

The victim succumbed to his injuries as he was being taken to the hospital.

Police are conducting further investigations on the murder.
