Re: Guy Tries to Take Cops Gun, Gets Executed.

people need to stop using "executed" in place of killed, murdered, etcetera.

"execution" is a penalty of death arrived at via legal condemnation.

Re: Guy Tries to Take Cops Gun, Gets Executed.

Added a better quality version of the last bit.

Summary via Fairfax County Police:

"Mount Vernon Police District – B.L., 38, of Newport News has been identified as the man who assaulted an officer then forced him into his cruiser leading to two officers discharging their firearms.

At 4:06 p.m. yesterday, B.L. passed a license plate reader which alerted officers to a stolen U-Haul in the area. An officer saw the U-Haul in the 6300 block of Richmond Highway, in the Alexandria section of Fairfax County. B.L. pulled the U-Haul into the gas station parking lot, exited the vehicle then walked away. The officer can be seen on surveillance footage speaking with B.L. then the two walk towards the officer’s cruiser.

The officer told B.L. he was going to be detained for driving the stolen U-Haul. B.L. then attacked the officer. He immediately grabbed the officer’s firearm and tried to remove it from the holster. B.L. held onto the officer’s holstered firearm, assaulted the officer by striking him in the head and pulled him across the parking lot in an attempt to disarm him.

B.L. then opened the officer’s cruiser door and forced the officer into the vehicle. During the assault, the vehicle was placed into gear and rapidly accelerated backwards with the officer trapped underneath B.L. The officer radioed for emergency assistance and told dispatch the suspect had his firearm.

As the cruiser drove in reverse, two community members’ vehicles were struck. The cruiser then struck a business and came to a stop. B.L. continued his assault on the officer as two officers arrived on scene.

One officer discharged his firearm as B.L. remained on top of the officer inside the cruiser. A second officer arrived on scene and attempted to remove B.L. off the officer. He was able to pull B.L. off the officer and out of the cruiser. The officer then discharged his firearm.

B.L. was declared deceased at the scene. The victim officer was taken to a nearby hospital and was treated for his injuries. He was later released. The officer’s duty belt remained on the officer during the assault with the firearm holstered. The holstered firearm was pulled from his hip to the front of the officer’s waistband. The U-Haul was confirmed to be stolen from Richmond on May 3."
Good, one cunt less.

Re: Guy Tries to Take Cops Gun, Gets Executed.

Fucking terrible officer safety on Officer 1, gun side always away from others, and pay attention to the bad guy for fucks sake.
Well said!

In Law Enforcement, the 2 things that are a must for an Officer in this situation:
1. keep your firearm/holster side “bladed away” from the perp/subject. (some call this the 150A stance,
or keeping your weapons-side 150*away from the person you have in front of you)
2. while also keeping eye-contact with said person,
even when using your mic, talkie, etc... or while talking with them. as well keeping your Off-hand “at the ready”. (near your chest or heart in case of a scuffle or attack from subject)

Re: Guy Tries to Take Cops Gun, Gets Executed.

Wow, that was intense. What started off as an attempted police detainment of a harmless-seeming homosexual young man (did you hear the way he said, "What's reported stolen?" then clutched his chest?) quickly escalated into something far more dramatic and unexpected. Good find!
...and the way he walked
...and the way he was dressed

Re: Guy Tries to Take Cops Gun, Gets Executed.

That cop pulling him out and putting 3 into the guys heart has cracked me up every time I've watched it.
Yes, no dicking around reading him his rights or asking if he was an endangered species, or if he was being treated correctly according to his/her/it's, preferred pronoun..... just 'get some, motherfucker' and the job was done.
$500,000 of tax payers money saved in a split second decision.

I've had such training working unarmed security in the past so you'd think such would be pretty widespread at this point but implementation in the field is different, of course.
