Just watched again that blood is deep red. It’s an artery.
I hate to call anyone out...But what you see is venous blood flow. More maroon in color as opposed to bright red arterial blood flow. See how the blood is oozing out instead of pulsating? Clear indication that the jugular vein has been severed. If it was the common carotid artery that was severed, he would already be dead. High pressure artery and low pressure vein. Also, the jugular vein partially overlaps the carotid artery anteriorly. I worked in a vascular cath lab for 17 years...
