Actually the original M-80 (before the military shrunk them down so they could throw them at the new recruits during training to simulate live fire) was huge and held as much as an M1000 which holds 20-25 grams of Pyro flash powder. Notable differences in the M1000 and M-80 are: M-80 - red Pyro tube 1" inner diameter usually 2" - 3" in length and side fused, meaning exactly that, the fuse comes out the side of the tube. 15 - 20 grams of Pyro flash powder. M1000/Ash can - May be any color tube but most often silver. 1" inner diameter 3" - 3½" in length and top fused. 20 - 25 grams Pyro flash powder. Both used paper end caps and visco fuse.
