He was freefalling for about 3 seconds. He would have been moving at roughly 150km per hr when he hit the water and came to a complete stop in a nanosecond. He was DEAD instantly almost certainly.

I counted 2.2 seconds. It's the way he hit the water that killed him, not the speed. Professional high divers and Hollywood stuntmen have jumped MUCH higher than that into water (see Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid) and barely break a sweat.

But did anyone even attempt to run from the bridge down to the water and see if there was anything that could have been done? No. They just stood there, not even yelling for help I might add, and filmed the ripples in the water till they faded away. There may in fact have been nothing that could have been done, but make an attempt to do SOMETHING!  |

How does someone just not instinctively jump in to try and help, especially if he was a friend you could have probably easily made that jump and not get k.o'd like he did. He landed on his chest/face area ouch.. should have had shoes on lol  |

We actually have examples of people jumping in to help and then die also.(russian video if I'm not mistaken) I would never do it. At the time this happens you don't see so clearly why he was in trouble, unlike watching from a video, so better keep yourself safe instead.
