I'm guessing that he was promised a much more painful end if he didn't accept his fate passively. You'll notice that there is another knive wielder in the video that briefly makes some stabbing motions in the Chest/Abdomen area as 'motivation' to go 'quietly'. |

Right? It's like these sicaríos know more about the psychological aspects of dying than most grief counselors. They manage to guide their victims all the way to the acceptance stage within the span of a single abduction/murder. Seems like most cartel personnel know what they're getting into. That's a tough game to be in, where you have to accept a violent death before you can even apply for the job. |

Actually I think he was in and out of consciousness the minute they cut his arteries in his neck, his brain was light headed and suffering from lack of blood and oxygen. So his arms come up, then collapse as he looses control again. Ever watch the videos of the knockout game, it is rather instant when your blood gets cut off, lasting only momentarily then you come back again, but disoriented. At least it was quick for him.
