Either he did not engage the E-brake and the trucked popped out of gear into neutral or he had it in neutral and the E-brake wouldn’t disengage when he tried to move so he could have disconnected the E-brake unintentionally and the lurching is simply the horribly uneven weight distribution.

I’m guessing it’s the first and that it popped out of gear. Never go under your vehicle without it in gear, e-brake applied, and chocks or you’ll end up on here while some guy explains what happened while taking a shit.
Thanks! Is this my husband? Good grief!
So... once, I went in to the dentist and my Jeep was not completely in gear when I parked. It had rolled in to the car in front of it. I assume that's the same thing? Except mines not a beefy truck like that so, it didn't lurch?

If the motor is on it will “lurch”. If it’s parked on an incline with the motor off and it pops out of gear it’ll just roll.

Re: ~Guy Gets Run Over By His Own Truck~

Does anyone else think it rolled downhill after the jack disengaged?

Lol sorry I have terribad ADHD and tend to over explain everything so I can’t be mistaken and I find extra information often useful.

I think the truck was off and the clutch failed and it popped into neutral. The lurch is a combination of sudden movement forward+heavy rear load making the truck appear to jump as it prances merrily downhead.

Extra info. In the late 90s as an older teen my buddy had 3 1987 Ford Escort GTs in standard transmission as I think all GTs were. The one we made racing stripes and the word TURBOH on the side out of duct tape was like our bottom bitch. We beat the shit out of this poor car, jumped it over railroad tracks, whipped shitties on gravel roads….all the usual rural boy shit. ANYWAY we beat this car mercilessly to the point where the clutch was probably in the same condition as this dude’s. He was able to drive down the road and shift at the right RPM without using the clutch. That aside, you can jumpstart a lot of these standards by pushing them in neutral and dropping the clutch into first gear suddenly. It made it easy to start the car without using the starter and sneak out at night to beat the shit out of it.

Then the entire muffler fell off at the exhaust manifold so we got pulled over for noise and then we went to Walmart and *** rigged the fallen exhaust into a semi vertical pipe.

You are correct, but I disliked your comment for divulging our secret to the fairer sex.

Fair enough. Were I the fairer sex, I might not have divulged it.
