A merchant from Venezuela, identified as Javier J. N. J., 44, died Sunday morning after being hit by a minibus. The victim, who lived close-by, had just to a man inside a Toyota 4Runner when he stepped into the road attempting to cross when he was struck by the public transport vehicle.

The impact caused him serious injuries, including a severe head trauma. Civil Protection officials transported him by ambulance to the emergency room, where he was admitted at 10:07 a.m. and died minutes later due to the severity of his injuries.

Authorities have begun an investigation to determine responsibility for this tragic accident that has brought grief to his family and the community.
