The guy who got a crash course (pun intended) in physics was doing a special abseiling technique often used by special police and military units, where instead of facing up/towards the wall, they're facing downwards. It's meant for a rapid assault, and to look badass in the case of amateurs doing it, but this one properly fucked it up. If you look closely at the first moments he picks up speed you can actually see him running along the wall towards the ground, which is only possible if you use the technique I mentioned. An abseil fall is already bad enough, but this poor shmuck must have known he was going to kiss the ground and experience sheer terror for a few fractions of a second as he picked up momentum and accelerated towards the ground. Had he been abseiling the regular way when he came undone he would never had seen the ground rapidly approaching, but instead just seen the world tumbling around him like he was in a dish washer, which is still slightly better.....

Looks like he started to lean back towards the cliff and his feet came out from under him when he did. Fucked up his tension and center of gravity. Should've kept leaning forward.
