Guy Electrocuted by an Electrical Transformer in Flooded Street

India. On July 9, in a premium residential neighborhood in, Ghaziabad, a 22-year-old N.K, a cleaning and maintenance worker, suffered a fatal electrocutiom.

Minutes before the incident, he had spoken over the phone to his elder brother, cheerfully saying, "The weather is very nice. Enjoy the rain."

Heavy monsoon showers had been pounding the Delhi area for two straight days, turning streets into temporary rivers. Like many others, the victim saw the rain as a brief, refreshing break from the summer heat.

Around 3:30 PM, he walked through the heavy waterlogging near Gyan Khand Park-1. Right next to the park's metal gate stood a large electrical transformer. Unbeknownst to him, a fault in the electrical infrastructure was actively leaking high-voltage current directly into the stagnant rainwater, turning the public street into an invisible death trap.

As he took a step into the water near the transformer, the live current surged through his body. He instantly collapsed into the muddy floodwater.

A friend walking alongside him narrowly escaped the same fate and screamed for help. Because the water itself was visibly carrying a live charge, no one could step in to pull him out without risking their own lives.

Local residents immediately contacted the electricity department to cut the power supply to the grid. Once the area was safe, locals pulled his body from the water and rushed him to a nearby private hospital, where doctors unfortunately declared him doa.
