Re: Guy Crashes Car. I'm Going to Assume He's Dead
Indeed. Even "surviving" such an injury one would probably be nothing more than a breathing, pooping pile of uselessness.

Seen footage of him racing and the crash maybe not on here but this aftermath is new, and fuck me it is brilliant. Surely would slow a few knobhead speedsters down if they watched this. Super awesome post |

Re: Guy Crashes Car. I'm Going to Assume He's Dead
A passenger may have been in the car when Taufiq Carr crashed his BMW M3 on the N1 in Cape Town a week ago. Carr's BMW crashed into the centre median on the N1 near Century City. A video being circulated on social media appears to have been taken from the passenger side of the car on the night of the crash. The video clip shows the BMW speeding alongside a second car, which looked like a white BMW. A few seconds into the video, a motorbike comes speeding through between the two cars. The man behind the recording can be heard saying: "And again, and again, and again, and again and again." The second car starts closing the gap when the video starts shaking and a man is heard saying: "Ay". Sparks appear on the screen before the video ends. The 26-year-old businessman Carr from Mitchells Plain has since had both of his legs amputated. Mayoral committee member for safety and security JP Smith said in a video after the crash, someone was heard asking for "Imraan". "If there was a guy called Imraan in that car, he escaped that accident miraculously. I am sure he has used all his nine lives," Smith told TimesLIVE on Tuesday evening. Smith said the fact that the person behind the recording had left the scene, would save him from being criminally prosecuted. "I hoped he has learnt his lesson and would not go back to his foolish and reckless ways." Despite the horrific crash, Smith said a few nights later, petrol heads were back racing on the freeway. "It doesn't help what we do, people just don't want to learn." Smith said Cape Town officials had met with the city's senior legal counsel on Tuesday to amend the draft Traffic By-law. This was an attempt to see if it could include impounding or forfeiture when petrol heads are caught driving recklessly. He said they were still getting legal advice on whether they could add it to their own by-law. Source https://www.timeslive.co.za/news/sou...-racing-crash/ |

Re: Guy Crashes Car. I'm Going to Assume He's Dead
A video of a car crash in what looks like a street race has surfaced on social media. One of the videos was filmed from a bridge, where a group of people were watching cars approaching on the N1 in Cape Town, near the Sable Road turnoff. Life Healthcare response car LimaCharlie1 tweeted: “According to EMS reports, the car overturned after the crash on the N1 in Cape Town near the Sable road turn-off.” The City of Cape Town said on Monday it is “appalled” by the illegal street racing filmed on Sunday. “We can confirm that the incident did in fact happen just after midnight this morning, leaving the driver of the BMW seriously injured,” City of Cape Town safety and security mayoral committee member JP Smith said. “The incident is just the latest example of the devastation wrought by illegal street racers on our streets.” Smith said “fortunately” no one else was injured. “There have been plenty of cases before where innocent persons have paid with their lives because of the recklessness and arrogance of others.” Smith said only the police can prosecute motorists using third-party evidence such as the video. “The city has engaged with the National Prosecuting Authority about this matter and they have informed us that they are not legally able to open cases or issue notices based on statements from members of the public and that only police may investigate such cases when a member of the public submits a complaint.” Meanwhile, Smith said in a separate incident on Sunday, the Cape Town Traffic Service’s Ghost Squad chased a car on the N2 outgoing driving nearly 200km/h. “The driver refused to stop and, to the officer’s amazement, swapped seats with his passenger in mid-pursuit. Only then did the vehicle pull over. “The original driver was arrested on charges of reckless and negligent driving and drunk driving.” Both were charged with defeating the ends of justice.
