Now I can tell you that things would CERTAINLY have gone differently had I been there. I can tell YOU! Firstly, I would have gotten between them, said Hey, hey, HEY! Now let's just calm the heck down here!. Then I would have used my patented fatherly voice and said: Hey fellas, let's rap, huh? Then I would have fixed them up some of my famous hot cocoa (My own secret recipe). And we would, y'know, just talk. We'd laugh a little, and yes, cry a little, and we would just spend the night sharing our feelings. We would talk about how our fathers weren't always there when we needed them (Life can be like that), and maybe about how maybe our parents had let us down from time to time (My own mom was once late picking me up from ice skating lessons by 45 minutes! You think I don't know what pain is?). No. If I had been there things would have RESOLVED. And the world would have been a better place. I hate being in prison. |
