There's a very good reason for that, if you bother to actually check out the site and read its message. President Enrique Peña Nieto is forcing a media blackout on cartel violence-aggressively censoring all independent news agencies in Mexico to prevent people from seeing the extent of the carnage there. The country's recent reputation for violence has crippled the Mexican tourism industry over the last 6 years. The site wants as many people as possible to see these videos (there are dozens and dozens on their site) so that other countries are aware of what is happening down there. If the Mexican media is blacked out and US/Canadian/UK media is completely sanitized with PC aversion to showing violence and horror, people will forget how terrible things are turning down in mexico. The same way that they choose to ignore the tens of thousands of deaths in Syria and the fact that Turkey has been in open revolt for the past week. |
