Not an accident at all. He chambered a 12 gauge round on purpose and removed the safety on purpose and squeezed the trigger on purpose.
I don't think it was on purpose. He's just an idiot. He's using his thumb to hold the gun out, and the thumb is on the trigger.

It looks like he just didn't think about what he was doing. The way he's holding it, he didn't need to pull the trigger, since he was holding the gun up by the trigger.

Look at his face when the gun fires, that split second before he can react. He wasn't thinking he was about to eat a bullet, he was still posing for his little selfie.
