Re: Greece: Mafia Member Executed Inside His Armored SUV
Yes, My thoughts exactly ! I had to watch it again to see if he was wearing gloves but can't really tell. You would assume that he was wearing gloves as this was a planned hit, but the stupidity of ppl sometimes leaves me astounded, so it's anyone's guess, I'm sure the cops will fingerprint that area first after watching the security cam footage. |

Re: Greece: Mafia Member Executed Inside His Armored SUV
The highest level of consumer "bulletproof" glass is called Level 4. It's pretty thick stuff. Usually needs significant door and window modifications and requires beefing up the vehicle's suspension. There's plenty of YT videos about it's use and testing. It can take many rounds from a carbine without penetration. Allegedly, "The Beast," as the POTUS limo is called, has a level superior to this and can prevent armor piercing rounds and RPG's. (I'd pay to see that...). The typical "bullet resistant" glass available in executive protection packages on cars is Level 3 or lower. They standup pretty well to handgun fire, but needless to say any carbine rifle round will blow right through it like butter. |

Re: Greece: Mafia Member Executed Inside His Armored SUV
The probable Albanian executors were paid at least 300,000 euros for the head of the 44-year-old. There had long been talk in Athens' nightlife that hitmen were wanted for a big job. From the manner of the murder, the way the combs of the gun were tied, the blow to the head with the pistol bullet to ensure that he was dead, indicate that the executioners may have been contract killers "imported" from abroad. V. Z. is accused of some of the most sensational murders in Athens, such as the murder of Stafankos and Griva, the heads of blackmail in Greece; bomb placement and the Panagopoulos robbery. Police said they found 97 shell casings at the scene and that the assassins are suspected to have used 3 different weapons, at least 2 Kalashnikovs (which were found in the perpetrators' burned car) and a 9 mm pistol. A few minutes after the execution at the exit of Athens in the place called Hajdari, the perpetrators' vehicle was also found burnt, an off-road vehicle which turned out to be rented, while inside the vehicle were also the weapons used in the murder. |
