My dad was one of the first Americans into Dachau. He told us the story once and said he would never speak of it again. They couldn't tell the living from the dead. All the GIs had candy on them, and drinking water, but were warned beforehand that they could not offer any food or drink to the victims. They were in such a state of starvation, that to eat a candy bar could kill them. This is why this can never happen again.

If you guys want to know more about this and other war crimes then look for a documentary called "world at war" . Its long and graphic and has key people in it from the war, including hitlers secretary who was the last to see him, i shit you not. BTW i just noticed you can view it all on youtube, theres 33 epsiodes in the blu ray version, 26 on dvd
