I won't even pretend to know that level of stress and fear the officer(s) are facing in a situation like that. The suspect didn't do much to help his cause either - not listening to the officer's commands, not putting his hands up, and making a move for the the passenger seat of the truck. It's a tough call, but I don't think the cop is a murderer.

The video also shows that it was not until after more officers arrived on scene and attempted to move Duenez that they realised his foot was caught in the seatbelt

he didnt comply and reached for something in the van in a hurry, tbh, I wouldnt've hung around to find out what it was,

but maybe the cop could have just shot him in the arms or if not the legs? its a shame he had to die, also the man could have had a gun soon as he opened the van door

Too hard to judge whether it was right to shoot, but shouldn't he have a taser? Plus, it was definitely overkill and was the cuffing really necessary, he was hardly a threat anymore.

The victim killed himself through stupidity. If I was a cop I wouldn't give a scumbag like that a chance to kill me. Shoot first, ask questions later.
