Myanmar, Three men wearing mouth masks entered a gold shop when the store was closing. Using the pretext of buying gold, they tricked the owner to open the gold store. Then the three controlled the owner while one of them pulled a knife and started stabbing him. Less than a day after the murder/robbey, the three murderers were arrested by the police.

I share the same sentiments, but it seems Myanmar has placed a moratorium on capital punishment. Did a bit of research. Apparently, no prisoners have been executed in Myanmar since 1988. Their president in 2014 also commuted all of the country's death sentences to life imprisonment.

The irony is that Myanmar is as we know a majority Buddhist country, and yet support for capital punishment remains strong. This is the paradox of the death penalty in Myanmar. Quoted from another source, but I feel it's fitting considering the nature of this particular brutal crime.

I feel sorry for the poor bastard but he kinda asked for it. I mean, corona virus or not, who lets three masked men come into a jewelry store when you're in there by yourself unarmed? That was just stupid. Great post though
