Re: Girl Nearly Dead After Bungee Jumping Off a Building Went Wrong
Looks like amateurs. Which could mean that they misjudged the weight capabilities of the bungee, got the weight of the girl wrong, or misjudged the height of the drop/length of the bungee. Most often with professional bungee jumping locations, an injury will result only when the customer lies about their weight. The company uses different bungees for different weights. Girl is self-conscious of her weight, puts down that she's 10 or 20 pounds lighter than she actually is, and the company uses a bungee that's designed for 10 to 20 pounds less than what she weighs. And then the problems start.

The bungee companies shouldn't ask the jumpers for their weight. They should make the jumpers get on a scale.

Exactly. When I went they weighed me and wrote my weight on my hand in big black numbers so that the guys outside could make sure the ropes were good.
