"Muzzle Sparks" are actually quite common. Much ammo is metal jacketed. That 'metal' is often a 'mild' steel. It is friction the 'mild' steel jacketing creates when traveling down a 'harder' steel barrel that causes the sparks. You don't see that with copper jacketing. AK rounds are almost always 'mild' steel jacketed. AK's are well known to produce sparks. Often the sparks go unnoticed due full daylight hours. When the lighting conditions are right, the sparks are more noticeable. |
