Obviously a child warning on this one. This 4 year old girl was alone (I know, why?) when she jumped 6 stories to the grass below.

She jumped with an umbrella which leads police to believe she was reenacting something she might have seen on TV.

A five-year-old girl is in a critical condition after she jumped from a sixth storey window holding an umbrella while she was left unsupervised in a locked room.
The girl was left alone at a printing works in Bagualing, Shenzhen, China, by her father who works as a security guard at the building.
The heart-stopping moment when she fell to the ground was captured on CCTV cameras nearby.


Shanghaiist reported that cargo workers heard a loud noise at 5pm yesterday and saw the girl dressed in pink crying and writhing in pain on the ground next to a yellow umbrella.
It is thought after being picked up from school she was left alone locked in the workers' common room while her father, who has been named only as Mr Tang, was at the gym.
The room where she was playing had a cupboard under the window and it is thought the five-year-old climbed onto it to jump from the sixth floor.

It is thought the girl may have been trying to fly using the umbrella when she jumped from the common room window.
It is thought she may have been copying Mary Poppins or superhero characters from children's cartoons, although this has not been confirmed.

i see the only problem here, umbrella facing down when she jumped so it didnt stop her ... or even better..... fly her faaar faar away.

Wow! Is she one lucky little paratrooper. The umbrella probably slowed her and that soft ground, the only soft ground in the area was just enough to save her life. Hey Dad, 6 year old kids need to be watched at all times.

She landed on soft vegetable growth so no wonder she survived. The question is: just how badly injured was she? I can imagine the trauma from a fall that height resulting in spinal cord damage. Poor kid. I can't really fault her. When I was a dumb kid, I saw an old Tarzan episode on TV once where cheetah jumps off a tree or a building with an umbrella and floats safely to the ground. It looked like such enormous fun that I started to climb up my father's ladder onto our roof with an umbrella. My sister stopped me. Who knows? I could have ended up like her too, though six stories is FAR worse than a single story.
